What are the local bank options?
There are several banks in the United States. And there are two banks that are closest to the SCU campus, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. I personally recommend Bank of America as they have a branch right off campus and an ATM near Benson (dining hall on campus). But it is ultimately up to you where you’d like to conduct your banking, these two banks are just convenient.
How do I set up an account?
You can walk to the BOA (Bank of America) near the SCU entrance or another bank. When you go in explain you are a new student and hoping to open a bank account and ask them for a checking account. They are really helpful and will guide you through the process. You’ll get your account set up and a debit card the same day.
What’s the best way to transfer money or tuition to the US?
The most economical way to do so is transfer to your bank account. To do so, you’ll need your routing number, account number and the swift code. For accounts by BOA, the swift code is BOFAUS3N. Other banks will have their own swift code and you can ask your banker for assistance in finding it.
How do I pay my tuition?
Paying tuition requires a bank account. To do so, simply go to eCampus and click “make a payment”. In eCampus you can set it up so your bank account is attached, this will make it easy to transfer money for your tuition payments. For this you will need your account number and routing number.
