Off-Campus Study Spots

May 28, 2018

If you are like me and sometimes need a break from studying on-campus, there are lots of great study spots off-campus nearby. I like studying at cafes and here are a few of my favorites:

1. Big Mug Coffee Roaster

3014 El Camino Real

Santa Clara, CA 95051

Big Mug is one of the first cafes I discovered in Santa Clara. It’s one of the most “hipster” cafes I’ve been to in this area. When I go to Big Mug, I usually get their Green Tea Latte. Big Mug can get very crowded on the weekend and it can be difficult to find parking in the afternoon, but it’s much less crowded during the week. Also, their Wi-Fi used to not be very good, but they recently got a new router and their Wi-Fi works fine now.

2. Tom N Toms Coffee

3050 El Camino Real

Santa Clara, CA 95051

If Big Mug is too crowded, I’ll go to Tom N Toms. I like how spaced out the tables are at Tom N Toms, and I usually get their Citron Tea when I study here. It’s in the same plaza as Big Mug, so finding parking can be difficult on the weekend.

3. California Mochi

3030 El Camino Real

Santa Clara, CA 95051

California Mochi is also in the same plaza as Big Mug and Tom N Toms. It’s a really cute shop that sells mochi desserts and boba. I like to study here because it’s usually pretty quiet, and it has a calming vibe to it.

4. Chromatic Coffee

5237 Stevens Creek Blvd

Santa Clara, CA 95051

This place can get pretty crowded and a little loud, but they have very good drinks and food. Being a tea person, I really like their Milk & Tea. Finding parking on the weekends here is not a problem, but sometimes finding seats can be challenging.
